Fractional CFO & Bookkeeping

Numbers you can trust, explained so you know what to do next.

I'm Christy Walker, CPA. I help small businesses and nonprofits build accurate books and turn them into clear, confident decisions, so you can focus on the work you actually care about.

Licensed in New Mexico and Maryland. Working with clients remotely, nationwide.

Every event we host is designed with intention, from the atmosphere we create to the way each session flows.

CPA with more than 25 years of Experience

A partner in your organization, not just your books.

I hold CPA licenses in New Mexico and Maryland and have spent more than twenty years helping small businesses and nonprofits make sense of their finances. I build accurate, reliable books and pair them with the insight to act on what they show.

Whether you need ongoing support or a one-time QuickBooks clean-up, I have proven systems for account setup, monthly engagement, and everything in between. My goal is simple: a seamless financial experience that frees you to focus on what you're passionate about.

"My job is to turn complexity into clarity. Accurate books are where it starts. Knowing what they mean is where it pays off."

Clean, reliable financials are the foundation of a healthy organization, and getting them right takes real skill. But numbers on a page only take you so far. My work is to build that foundation and then turn it into clarity: telling you what the numbers mean and helping you decide what to do next, at every level from monthly books to sitting beside you as your CFO.

Additional Services

Available as add-ons to any package. Pricing is a flat monthly fee based on your activity level, which we'll set together before we begin, so there are no surprises.

Bill Pay (Accounts Payable)

Hands-off bill payment, with you still in control.

I manage your accounts payable from start to finish using Ramp or Bill.com. I enter your bills, code them correctly, and prepare each payment, but you review and approve every invoice before anything goes out. You keep full control and clear separation of duties. I handle the work.

  • Bill entry and accurate coding

  • Vendor management and recordkeeping

  • Payments prepared and scheduled through Ramp or Bill.com

  • Owner approval required on every invoice

  • A clean, documented approval trail

Flat monthly fee based on your bill volume, set during onboarding.

Full Payroll

Payroll run and handled, fully and correctly.

I run your payroll through Gusto (my preferred platform) and manage the compliance that comes with it, so it's done right and on time without you having to think about it.

  • Full payroll processing through Gusto

  • Quarterly payroll tax filings

  • Year-end W-2s and 1099s

  • Multi-state support when you need it

Flat monthly fee based on your payroll activity, set during onboarding.

Full Sales Tax Filing

Sales tax prepared and filed, start to finish.

I prepare and file your sales tax returns so you stay compliant across the jurisdictions where you do business, without tracking deadlines or rates yourself.

  • Sales tax calculation and preparation

  • Return filing on your required schedule

  • Multi-jurisdiction support when you need it

Flat monthly fee based on your filing frequency and jurisdictions, set during onboarding.

For Nonprofits

Financials your board can actually understand.

Nonprofits answer to boards and funders, and most board members don't come from a finance background. You need someone who keeps the books clean and makes the numbers make sense to everyone in the room.

I work with nonprofits using the same packages, tuned to what mission-driven organizations need: clear reporting for your board, support at grant and funder reporting time, and a steady hand on your reserves so the mission stays funded.

What nonprofit clients lean on me for

  • Board-ready financial reports, explained in plain language

  • Support for grant and funder reporting

  • Reserve and cash flow planning

  • Program-level profitability and cost tracking

  • Coordination with your auditor or tax preparer

You get clarity every month

Clean books, clear reports, and a partner who tells you what the numbers mean.

  • You'll receive a meeting summary, a project plan, and a time and cost estimate so you know exactly what working together would look like.

  • No. The call stands on its own. You'll leave with clarity and a plan whether or not we move forward.

  • Just a bit about your organization and your top goals or concerns. Sharing recent financials helps but isn't required to get value from the call.

  • Yes. I work with owners and boards who aren't accountants and explain everything in plain language.

  • We can absolutely continue. Any follow-on work is scoped clearly in the plan and estimate you receive. goes here

  • Not at all. I work with clients nationwide, fully remotely. We meet by video, share documents securely, and I record walkthroughs so you can revisit anything on your own time. Distance never gets in the way of clear books or a real partnership.

  • Both. If your books need a reset (catch-up, a QuickBooks cleanup, or getting organized before tax season) I can handle that as a standalone project. Many clients start there and move into a monthly package once everything's clean.
